On the right
hand side in white dress: the young assistant-professor Fajrul Falaak,
secretary of the Nahdatul Ulama (NU) in Jokja, the largest Muslim
organization in the world. Five years later my friend Fajrul became secretary
of former president Wahid – Gus Dur -
(who is also the national president of the NU). On his initiative and
with his help I lectured on many Universities and Institutes. We discussed
also in mosque's with groups of students, sometimes lasting the whole night till
early in the morning...! |

The channel al-Jazeera offers people a view on the hidden side of the moon!
Al-Jazeera shows in an objective way the two sides of the Middle East problems. Arab governments try by means of the Arab League to abolish the station because al-Jazeera gives also the freedom of speech to spokesmen of the Israeli government as Sjimon Peres.
The Western fighters for "freedom and liberty", Bush, Cheney and their clan try to strangle al-Jazeera...! The 500 billion Arabs have to shut their mouth...! Only the clients of the USA may speak for them...! So it is important that al-Jazeera gets an English spoken or at least English undertitled channel. De televisie-zender al-Jazeera biedt zijn publiek een blik op de onzichtbare kant van de maan. Al-Jazeera laat het Midden-Oosten kritisch van twee kanten zien. Arabische regeringen trachten via de Arabische Liga de zender te verbieden op grond van het feit dat al-Jazeera ook woordvoerders van de Israëlische regering als Sjimon Peres aan het woord laat. De westerse strijders voor "vrijheid van de pers", de heren Bush en Cheney hebben vanaf zijn ontstaan al-Jazeera proberen te vernietigen...! De 500 miljoen Arabieren moeten hun bek houden, alleen USA-zetbazen mogen spreken. Er zijn plannen voor het opzetten van een engelstalig kanaal of ondertiteling. The secret are vivid interventions of myself together with the eloquent politician Fatima Elatik at a conference of the EurArabian Dialog in Casablanca. We attacked the ideology of therefore irritated Arab nationalist leaders like Abid Jabri. I had to inscribe myself for an intervention. Because my name 'Ron' was not understood, I proposed 'Harun el-Rachid' as my name. This fact caused the astonishing reaction: "Ah, now the identity of your eloquent partner is clear to us: she is without any doubt the storyteller Sheherazade...!"

Ron appointed by her Majesty Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands
as Knight of the Royal Order of Orange Nassau
- awarded on behalve of his assistance to Arab migrants & the improvement of the Dutch relations with the Republic of Indonesia.
- Felicitations by the mayor of the city of Amsterdam, Job Cohen (29 april 2003).
Ron is april 2003 door Job Cohen tot Ridder Oranje Nassau geslagen. Job Cohen vermeldde dat Ron - na de koloniale periode - initiatieven nam voor de verbetering van onze betrekkingen met Indonesië (waar hij ook les gaf aan universiteiten). Ron wilde allochtonen zelf hun boontjes laten doppen en daar enkel als vriend en handlanger bij helpen. Dit bracht hem vanzelfsprekend in konflikt met vele goedbedoelende Nederlanders - als in Amsterdam 'muchtar' Jan Beerenhout - die vinden dat Turken en Marokkanen met Nederlanders moeten assimileren en doen wat die zeggen, alvorens hun subsidieruif rijkelijk gevuld wordt. Maar dit door politiek Links nog steeds gevierde "multiculturele" standpunt bleek sterk aan slijtage onderhevig - zie de AEL.

Felicitaties van Tjeerd Herrema stadsdeelvoorzitter Zeeburg (wiens huwelijk met zijn vriend door moslima Fatima Elatik als ambtenaar van de burgerlijk stand werd ingeschreven) en rechts: Mustafa Ustalar, deelraadslid-buurtactivist
Gevraagd naar zijn motivatie om deze onderscheiding te aanvaarden, antwoordde Ron: "Zo'n waardering voor je acties en je andere producten, dat geeft de burger toch weer moed! En ik hoop dat er praktische voordelen aan vast zitten! Kijk, ik roerde me danig in de Arabische wereld. En als je dan medewerking van onze ambassades nodig hebt voor projecten van mensenrechten-activisten of over vrijheid van meningsuiting, en ik bij voorbeeld in Marokko of Syrië met de ambassadeur of ambassaderaad daarover praat, dan krijg je te horen:
"Meneer Haleber waar bent u in 's hemelsnaam mee bezig? Dat is ons te veel gevaarlijk! Wij kunnen u absoluut geen bescherming garanderen. Wij zijn niet in staat iets voor u te doen wanneer u gearresteerd wordt! Pas op, u doet dit geheel op eigen risico!".
Goed, soms bleek ik beter ingang te hebben op ministeries dan de ambassade zelf en kon ik dus beter inschatten wat het risico was, en me via mijn netwerk tijdig indekken. Maar met zo'n onderscheiding zal - volgens insiders - het personeel van Buza toch wat meer rekening met je houden dan met een willekeurige toerist die daar langstippelt omdat hij zijn geld of paspoort kwijt is.

Op zich vind ik de onofficiële onderscheiding die ik ontving uit handen van de Marokkaan El Manouzi die op ons Ministerie van Justitie werkt - een familielid van politieke martelaren in Marokko - natuurlijk even belangrijk. Dat gebeurde namens de "Association des Parents et Amis des Victimes de la Disparition au Maroc" (APADAM), de Vereniging van de Ouders en Vrienden van Slachtoffers van Verdwijning in Marokko, die als devies heeft: "Samen voor een Vrij en Democratisch Marokko 1970-2000".

Besides that fact the crazy Administrator of the Moroccan website www.Maroc.NL didn't remove lately a solidarity letter I wrote as private e-mail to an Moroccan militant. Despite my immediatly and repeated protests this Moroccan webmanager refused to remove even my personal adress and telephone-number which was put there out of political revenge by some racist. Since that time I receive also from Dutch fascists many virus-mails ... My lesson: never trust Arab authorities, power corrupts them too soon! And they will never apologize...
